Coombe Residential has been an integral part of the local community for twenty-eight years. Causes that benefit the education and well-being of young people have always been close to founder Hani Madanat’s heart, and over the years, the company has supported many worthwhile initiatives; from sponsoring a number of local state and independent schools to supporting charities aiding orphanages across Africa, and more recently, helping to develop musical talent in young people by sponsoring The Thames Youth Orchestra, Coombe Residential is proud to give back to its community.

As a local business, Coombe Residential understands the importance of building strong, vibrant communities. Sponsoring schools and community events is one of the ways they give back; ensuring the next generation has access to quality education and enriching experiences.

Supporting Local Education

Sponsorship initiatives are designed to support and enhance the educational experiences of students at various local schools. Coombe Residential believes that by investing in education, they are investing in the future of the community. Here are some of the schools they proudly support.

Coombe Girls' School

Known for its academic excellence and nurturing environment, Coombe Girls’ School is an all-girls secondary school and co-educational sixth form with academy status in New Malden, South-West London. Sponsorship helps provide resources for extracurricular activities, student development programs and facility improvements.

Holy Cross School

The Holy Cross School is a Roman Catholic Secondary School for girls aged between 11 and 18 years. Renowned for its high academic standards and achievements in sports, music, and the arts, the school offers a rich and diverse curriculum that fosters both academic and personal growth. Coombe Residential support various school events, educational workshops, and initiatives that enrich the students' learning experiences.

Rokeby School

Rokeby School is an independent all-boys preparatory day school in Kingston upon Thames offering education from 4 to 13 years. Rokeby School is dedicated to providing a stimulating educational environment that promotes critical thinking and creativity. Sponsorship from Coombe Residential assists in funding special projects, technological advancements, and extracurricular programs that benefit students.

St. Matthew's School

At St. Matthew's Church of England Primary School in Surbiton, the focus on community and character development compliments the academic curriculum. St Matthews has a vision for all pupils to “live life in all its fullness”. Sponsorship contributions have helped support community outreach programs, and various school events.

Marymount International School

Marymount International School is a private day and boarding school for girls in Kingston upon Thames, London. Marymount International School prides itself on offering a global perspective in education. Sponsorship helps enhance the international programs, cultural exchange opportunities, and advanced learning facilities that make this school unique.

Supporting Community Initiatives

In addition to commitment to local schools and the Thames Youth Orchestra, Coombe Residential is proud to sponsor the Coombe Hill Golf Tournament for Women in 2024 and supports the Coombe House Estate AGM, an involvement that spans over 22 years. The committed, long-standing support for this significant community event underscores dedication to fostering a strong and connected community.

The AGM is a vital forum for residents to come together, discuss important issues, and make collective decisions that impact the estate. We are honoured to contribute to the success and continuity of this event year after year.

Yet again we would like to extend our enormous thanks to Hani and the whole team at Coombe Residential for their sponsorship support. Knowing we have a local company who are always there to support a school parent association and enrich the education of the boys shows just how much they value their local community and the future community through the children living in the area. Being able to collaborate with Hani and his team this year for our annual Fireworks, annual Summer fair and much more is highly appreciated by us all.
— Yvonna Raftopoulos, Chair of The Rokeby Parent Circle

Your contribution to sponsor our Fireworks Display, means a lot to us and we are very grateful for your support. The success of any charity is dependent on the support provided by generous people like you. It is because of you that we can continue to deliver our very best and serve our school and community.
— Katie Mulroe, Treasurer Trustee of Friends of Donhead

It’s been such a pleasure having you on the board, and I am so grateful for all the support you’ve given the orchestra over the years. Without having had you and Coombe as a sponsor, I don’t believe that the orchestra would have been able to grow in the way that it has done - your financial support has given us the freedom to be daring and bold in our ambitions, refusing to compromise on quality or on our core principles, the result of which has led us to the truly fantastic position we now see ourselves in, embedded in the wider community, with the backing of an established and forward-thinking institution, and therefore with the scope to enrich the lives of so many young people.
— Carys Evans, Executive Director Thames Youth Orchestra

Our work with TYO over the last decade would have been unthinkable without your wonderful generosity, support, energy, enthusiasm and wisdom: the community will be immeasurably reduced by your absence from it. It goes without saying that my gratitude goes beyond words, and I know I speak for the whole community, past and present, in saying that your part in all of our achievements (concerts, tours, the Barbican and more) was as significant as anyone’s. We simply could not have accomplished what we have without you.

I would also like to thank you, personally, for your trust and belief in my judgements and decisions over the years. Your friendship and guidance has been of incalculable value, and I will miss very much your boundless energy and positivity at our trustees meetings.
— Simon Ferris, Musical Director, Thames Youth Orchestra & Thames Youth Jazz Orchestra
